Authis

Termini d'uso

La versione inglese è quella che fa fede. Questo documento esiste solo in inglese e portoghese. Anche in Português.

1. Who you are agreeing with

Authis is made and operated by André Santana Ferro, an individual developer resident in Brazil (“I”, “me”). By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Authis.

Contact: authis@andreferro.dev

How your data is handled is set out separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

2. What Authis is

Authis is a habit tracker. You create habits, mark the days you did them, and the app keeps the history, the streaks and the charts. It works offline and syncs when you have a connection.

That is the whole of it. Authis is not a coach, not a medical service, and not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

3. Who can use it

You must be 13 or older. Where the law where you live requires a greater age to agree to an online service without a parent or guardian — 16 in several European countries — you must meet that age instead.

One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

4. Your account

You sign up with an email address and a password.

  • Give a real address you can open. Depending on how the service is configured you may need to confirm it before you can sign in, and it is the only way to reset a password.
  • Keep your password to yourself. Anyone with it can read and change everything in your account.
  • Your email address cannot be changed in the app. Write to me and I will change it.
  • If you think someone else has your password, change it. Resetting a password signs out every other device.

5. What you put into Authis

Your content stays yours. Your habits, notes and history belong to you, and nothing here transfers ownership.

You give me only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, to keep it in backups, to send it between your devices, and to show it back to you. Nothing more. I will not publish it, sell it, or use it to train anything.

Habit descriptions and daily notes are free text, and they are stored exactly as you type them. Section 3 of the Privacy Policy explains what that means if you are thinking of recording something sensitive. Please read it.

6. Using it reasonably

Do not use Authis to break the law, to store material you have no right to hold, or to attack the service — no attempts to break into other accounts, no probing for vulnerabilities without telling me, no automated flooding, and no working around the rate limits.

The Send feedback box reaches me. Please use it for feedback about the app.

It is not a support desk and there is no reply. There is no inbox behind it and no promise of a response — I read the messages, and that is all I can honestly say. It is not a route to emergency help of any kind: if you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service or crisis line, not a habit tracker.

If an account is used to attack the service or to harm someone, I may suspend or close it.

7. Free and premium

Authis is free to use. A free account can keep 5 active habits, review 90 days of history, choose from six habit colours, and sees one advertisement at the foot of the screen. Archived habits do not count toward the limit.

The advertising is non-personalized: it is not chosen from anything you track, and nothing you track is sent to an advertiser. Section 6 of the Privacy Policy describes exactly what is and is not involved. Subscribing removes it, and nothing else does.

Premium removes the habit limit, opens the full history and the whole palette, allows reminders, permits up to 2 rest days a month, and allows a habit to schedule up to 6 days off a week. What your account is entitled to is always decided by the server, and the app shows you the current limits.

These limits may change. If a change would reduce what a paying subscriber already has, it will not apply until the subscription period they have paid for ends.

8. Subscriptions, billing and refunds

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or by Google, not by me. The purchase happens inside the App Store or Play Store, and I never see your card or your billing details.

  • They renew automatically until you cancel.
  • Cancel in the store, not in Authis: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iOS, or Play Store → Subscriptions on Android. Authis links you straight there from the Subscription section of your profile. I cannot cancel a subscription for you — Apple gives developers no way to do it.
  • Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep premium until the period you have already paid for runs out.
  • Refunds are the store’s to give. Apple and Google decide them under their own policies, and I have no ability to issue one. Your statutory rights under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code are unaffected.
  • A price change never applies to a period already paid for.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account from your profile, at any time, with one exception worth explaining.

If a subscription is still set to renew, deletion is refused until you cancel it. That is deliberate. Because Apple gives me no way to cancel on your behalf, deleting your account would destroy every record of the subscription while the charges carried on — leaving you paying for something with nothing left to point at. Cancel in the store first, then delete. The app explains this when it happens and links you to the right place.

Deleting removes your habits, entries, notes, rest days, feedback and subscription record. It cannot be undone, and there is no way to recover the data afterwards. If you want a copy, take it before you delete.

10. Offline use and sync

Authis works offline and sends your changes when a connection returns. This is best-effort, and worth understanding:

  • Changes made offline are queued on your device and sent later. If they cannot be sent within 14 days they are discarded.
  • If the same thing is changed on two devices, the server decides which version wins, and the app tells you when something you queued could not be applied.
  • Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, throws away anything still queued.

Sync is a convenience, not a backup. Data that has never reached the server exists only on that device.

11. Reminders

Reminders are scheduled by your phone, on your phone — nothing is sent from a server. That means they depend on the operating system: if you deny the notification permission, force-quit the app for a long period, or the system decides to defer them, a reminder can be late or not arrive at all.

Do not rely on Authis for anything where a missed reminder matters — medication, appointments, or anything with a real consequence. Use a dedicated alarm.

The habit’s name is shown in the notification, and so is visible on your lock screen.

12. Not health or medical advice

Authis is not a medical device and gives no medical, psychological or health advice. It records what you tell it and counts the days. Streaks, charts and totals are arithmetic over your own entries, not an assessment of anything.

Nothing in the app should be used to diagnose, treat or make a decision about a health condition. Talk to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency service.

13. Availability and changes

I will try to keep Authis running and working, but it is offered as it is. I cannot promise it will always be available, free of faults, or that it will not change.

I may add, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what the service does, I will give notice in the app where I reasonably can.

The service may need old app versions to update before they can keep working.

14. Ending it

You can stop using Authis and delete your account whenever you want, subject to section 9.

I may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used to attack the service, or is used to harm someone. Where it is reasonable to do so I will warn you first and give you a chance to retrieve your data. If I discontinue Authis entirely, I will give reasonable notice and time to export.

15. Liability

Authis is provided as is, without warranties beyond those that Brazilian law does not permit me to exclude.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the Código de Defesa do Consumidor (Law 8.078/1990), or any other right that cannot be waived. Where the law allows a limit, my liability is limited to what you paid for Authis in the twelve months before the event.

I am not liable for a habit you did not do because a reminder was late, nor for data lost from a device before it reached the server. Section 11 explains why reminders cannot be relied upon.

16. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version is published here with a new effective date, and material changes are announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Authis after that means you accept them. If you do not, delete your account.

Every change is visible in this repository’s history.

17. Law and forum

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

Disputes belong to the courts of the city where I reside, except that as a consumer you may always bring a claim in the courts where you live, and any right you have under the Código de Defesa do Consumidor to do so is preserved.
